Wine not very good. Alot of sweet and fruit and others very boring, not much flavor. Very overpriced for the quality.

My husband and I were impressed with the look of the place. However, we felt that they were more concerned about a tour that was coming than that we were there. We weren't totally ignored though. There were a few too many girls working at the check out registers.

Favorite Wine: Peninsula Gold
Winery is located in a very beautiful area. Staff was friendly, but stingy in tasting portions. Wine was OK.

Favorite Wine: Peninsula Gold
This is the first time we visited this winery and we truly enjoyed our visit. The person who poured for us was very nice and even gave us an extra taste of another wine. We LOVED the Peninsula Gold which is a cream sherry! We will visit here again.

My wife and I thought the winery was nice and the wines were decent. Our only complaint was the tiny amount given during the wine tastings - smallest we have ever seen. I would return again if they had an event planned as the deck, etc. looks nice.

Ordinary wine, ordinary experience.

I tried 'em all in Door County. Didn't like metallic taste in reds. Avoid this place and try others. Bad attitude at bar, etc. I don't think they make the wines...could not get a straight answer either.

After a visit to Simon Creek's website, I ventured on the new road to Door County from my home in Appleton for a tour and taste. Having phoned on the way, I was told that tours start "whenever you arrive". But their idea of a tour was looking through a window to the cellar floor below! It could have been a dairy, for all I saw was a few tanks. What gives, I asked and the owner, I think he's the owner (a heavy white haired man engrossed in a football game) basically grunted and said "that's our tour" and went back to the game. From a hospitality point of view, this place rates a solid ZERO! Wanting to taste, I tried four wines and my tasting was over in 5 MINUTES or so and not memorable. The Cab was ordinary and the 'Untouchable Red' was closer to 'Undrinkable Red'. Readers please note: Skip past this place, try others and just know this is the first time I've been so wordy in a review, but this was unacceptable. Try Red Oak or anywhere else.

From the photos on their website, my wife and I expected an idyllic, rolling hillside vineyard for our first trip to Door County...that's where the deception began. The "largest vineyard in the state" is mostly dead twig-like vines and imagine our suprise when there wasn't a hill in sight! Folks, Door County is flat. Now then, where's the photo from? Next came the tasting room, not bad looking. Then the wine...what can I say other than it didn't approach fair, let alone good. We drink 4 bottles of good wine a week and have vowed to not ever drink this stuff again. We gave 2 bottles to our mailman for christmas rather than pouring them out! Incidentally, their ill trained staff spilled the beans "we don't make it, we ship it in from out of state". Quite the experience, don't you think? Save your money and go to California.

Loved this winery!!! Great service and a great selection of Door County wines!

This is a wonderful winery located in beautiful Door County Wisconsin. Always a popular place on weekends not only because of the wine but the added bonus of live music and quite often, dancing too. The people are Door County friendly, the wine is excellent and really some of the best wine. Enjoy this rural farm setting and the wine. Highly recommended - highly endorsed by local experts!
