Favorite Wine: Meritage

Like others have said above, this is a gorgeous property and setting. The food was very nice too. We liked that the wines were not overdone. Not too fruit forward nor overly Oakes. They showed some subtlety and finesse. We liked the Chardonnay and Meritage best. The $12 for a four wine tasting is a bit pricey upon glance. However, I would say it is in line when you consider this price includes a quality Reidel glass that you take with you.

They have a gorgeous piece of property and friendly staff. They are not dog friendly but since they weren't serving food at the time they let us in (granted he is only 5 lbs!). The tastings are pretty expensive and don't include a lot of wines, they are split between types so each tasting has about three wines. We choose the sparkling and enjoyed them all, the sparkling noir was impressive. Their tasting area got crowded but they also have tables where you can do a tasting at. Unfortunately we couldn't take the glasses as mementos, so we ended up purchasing them. We walked away with a delicious bottle of the Kluge Rose' as well.

Arcady likes to visit Kluge Estate near the end of a tour. They have large tastings, and we often have couples so advise one to order the sparkling tasting and one the regular and share them. It's best to visit when it's not a busy season time as there are not a large number of tables and the tastings are designed to be portable and enjoyed while sitting and relaxing. We love the big cheese counter, and the way the lunches are displayed so no matter what language you speak you can see what's available! They offer beautiful plants and topiaries, herb baskets as well which are very fairly priced. We love their wines but they are priced generally higher than others we love. But some are very affordable such as their dry rose which is super!

The atmosphere is wonderful, but they are very proud of their wines. The most expensive of the vineyards we visited but we did enjoy the cheese plate with a flight of the wines.
