I always find the customer opinion about the owner to be the most out of place. Some people are just not destined to get along. So what? Maybe it's about the wine or maybe it's about some people's need to be "serviced".

Our first trip to "The Hill" hooked us, the place is one of the most relaxing I have been too. We stop and get lunch and head outside with a bottle of Aria and just watch the world go by. Very relaxing - and the entertainers are never so loud you can't have a conversation. Bill is also one of the nicest owners I've met in my travels. This should be on everyones list!

Favorite Wine: Rubato
Wow..we visited Harmony Hill as the 3rd winery of our Saturday afternoon in SW Ohio. What a lovely setting, Pat and Bill were engaging, fun and very welcoming. Music on the patio rounded out a nice and super informative visit. Rubato was our favorite, but Traminette hit the spot on a warm afternoon. We can't see why anyone would have a bad experience here! Can't wait to go back!

Favorite Wine: Chambourcin "Rubato"
Harmony Hill is an excellent producer in the Ohio River Valley. They have a strong comitment to quality wine that starts in the vineyard. The setting proves that grapes do not grow in ugly places, and all are welcome to enjoy the property to their fullest. The staff is personable and knowledgable (a feature that I find hard to find at some places). There are several wines that they produce every year with consistant quality and acclaim. My personal favorite is the "Rubato". This wine is a dry barrel aged chambourcin. It has an excellent fruit forward, including black cherry and hints of ripe rhaspberry. The wine is medium bodied and much more complex than many chambourcins that I have come across, 5 stars! The whites also bring a lot to the table at Harmony. Their "Concerto" is the perfect summer sipper. It is made from 100% Vidal Blanc and has an excellent balance between delicate sweetness and acidity. Another personal favorite of mine is the Seyval Blanc "woodwind". This wine is barrel fermented and aged sir lee. This brings out the fruit of the wine. Honey, melon and citris tone come out strongly. In all truth there is no wine at Harmony Hill that I would not reccomend. My tru advise is to go to the winery and see for yourself. The staff will be happy to walk you throuh the wines and find the perfect match. Also take the time to gain as much knowledge as possible about the grape growing and wine making process. Enjoy!

The comments by CAROLHIN1, concerning HARMONY HILL, are slanderous at best! They are utter poisonous lies! I have been there countless times with a number of different groups and have conversed with the owner on a number of occasions; I have even stayed over a few hours, after closing, as a guest, for pizza. And I have never ever seen one incident of the owner 'having a few' or being 'lit' or being out of control. His treatment of everyone, young and old, is as honored guests. He has, on occasion, had to be stern in regard to some bringing their own alcoholic beverages; however, this is in line with his license with the State of Ohio, concerning the consumption of only his wine on premises. Whoever you are, Madam, you are a liar and an SOB by slandering good people! Why don't you crawl out from your 'dark hole' and show yourself in the light. Otherwise, crawl back into your hole, drink your Kroger wine on your back porch, and stay away from Harmony Hill. Your kind is not wanted anywhere where good people reside. You utterly disgust me, because, if you knew them, you would know they are not like that at all. Jesus may love you, but everyone else thinks you're a A-HOLE!

This place is kind of a catch 22. The wine is absolutely wonderful but the guy who runs it is not very friendly. I have been there several times because the wine is so good but every time I am there, it seems like he has waaaay to much wine himself. I have never personally had a problem with him but I have seen the way he treats some of the people there, usually the younger people. I originally started going to Harmony Hill in Bethel because it was supposed to be "all ages friendly" but the owner is quick to judge and has a very short temper when he's had a few. It's embarrassing for me to watch this happen - I think I'd have a better time on my back porch with a nice bottle of wine from Krogers. . . .
