Favorite Wine: I will say I did not get to taste any wine because the owner was so rude i could not continue to move forward with the visit
False advertising, listed 8:30-9:00 pm on printed vouchers and wont honor the time frame. They said when the vouchers were made they had to estimate sun down. If you purchase a ticket for any event or anything involving departure who estimates time of departure? Wanted to charge us an extra $52 just to book a different time of the day. Owner was rude and said its my responsibility to follow there website weekly. Said I had two months to figure this out when I did not even have the tickets two months ago. I asked for a refund, and she stated there are 32 other vouchers not redeemed what makes you so special? Save your money for something else because if they treat you like this before your arrival what are they going to be like when you get there and vouchers are redeemed and travel zoo then pays them. I have another family whom my daughter plays soccer with said they redeemed there's to go out and find out they missed departure by a few minutes and they would not let them catch up. Then to give them attitude because they had to put them with the next group which was full and how much of a inconvenience it was to the vineyard to do that. I should have listen to them and I would not be out money I don't have to throw away. As well as my 10 year old daughters birthday present is now taken away from her because they wont reschedule us or they wont depart at the time that states on my voucher. I am blown away that they can even do that.

How can I begin to describe a location that is a cross between a vineyard, a winery, and a gorgeous mountain lodge? It would take awhile really, but suffice to say that if you haven't visited Sanders Ridge Winery in Boonville, NC, you better make it a future visit destination. We first discovered the Sanders Ridge Winery back in 2009 when thanks to other folks, who highly recommended the place, we decided to visit. And we've been hooked ever since. The main building is a huge post and beam "mountain-lodge" type of scenario that houses the wine tasting area and a gorgeous restaurant called the Big Woods Restaurant. In the basement are the various barrels housing the wine. When you first enter the winery, you are greeted by a massive stone fireplace, with the wine tasting area to the right of that and the restaurant to the left. You are immediately put at ease by the superb (warm) ambiance that this interior creates. You feel "at home" all at once and you wind up staying for a few hours. Neil and Cindy Shore, the owners, are remarkable folks. Witty, indefatigable, exceptional planners, and downright friendly folks, they make it a point to make each guest feel as though they were a long lost friend - heck, their warmth tends to disarm even the most cautious visitors. They are to be commended for all they've done with this place. But Sanders Ridge is more than a winery and fantastic restaurant. It also has a wildly successful zip line course, has organized nature and bird trailwalks, a cute pond with huge gazebo, and so much more. You could wind up spending a day here as many folks have. If you're going to eat in the Big Woods Restaurant (by all means make it a point to do so), you must sample Chef Starr Johnson's cuisine. This awesome culinary chef produces some of the tastiest "new south" cooking that you'll come across and folks just keep coming back. Her wit, culinary talents (and instincts) have folks raving - and the ambiance in that dining area is second to none. So what else could I possibly say about this wonderful location - it's that good and we've been there now on 4 different occasions. And keep in mind we've now visited 48 different winery locations....and Sanders Ridge is one of the few that we keep returning to. And oh yes, their wines are fantastic also (I'd be remiss in not saying that).

I do not recommend this winery at all. When we walked in the door, the women told us to "go somewhere over there". She did not say hi or welcome or anything. She was very rude. Then when we were "allowed" to come over by the bar she told us she thought we already had too much to drink and that she couldn't do a tasting for us. We did not drink yet and just drove 1 1/2 hours to go there to get treated so rudely!

An interesting array of estate grown wine grapes from this relatively new 15 acre vineyard. I went specifically to try their 2008 Chambourcin and Cabernet Franc, but came away a bit disappointed in these wines that lacked substantial aromas and body. But for a plus, I got sucked into their Thursday night family style dinner. Wonderfully lightly fried catfish, herbed corn, snappy dark green local beans, home made bread, fabulous cabbage relish, a grand squash casserole and all this accompanied by live Blue Grass sounds. What an interesting winery building made all from massive trees found on this site’s farmland forests. Tasting fees were $5 for 5 and $10 for all available wines.

Favorite Wine: Chardonnay/Cab Franc
This is my absolute favorite winery. Everything about my trip there was great. The food at the restaurant was great, and all the veggies came from their own CSA organic farm. All the wines were great, even the sweet ones were OK, which I'm not usually a fan of. They had everything from sweet reds to dry whites. The winery itself is beautiful, with a nice rock fireplace, and a pond with a gazebo in it that you can walk out on. Perhaps the best part was actually getting to talk to the wine maker and the owner which you do not get to do at hardly any other wineries-especially the bigger ones. I highly recommend this winery to any wine lover out there.

This was a very nice winery. The owner was very pleasant and helpful with the tasting. You get to try all wines and keepsake glass for $7.00 wines range in price from $14-18 reasonable for the quality your getting.
