Favorite Wine: Syrah

Up to 6500 cases of wine annually comes from 32 acres at 1200’ elevation at this tobacco farm turned grape winery. Grapes planted eight-to-ten years ago are now maturing into stable production vines. A surprising varietal array are being grown at this location, to include Pinot Gris, Viognier, Chardonnay, Traminette, Marsanne, Semillon, Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Mourvedre, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, and North Carolina’s only estate grown Zinfandel. RagApple Lassie Vineyards is working hard to show that North Carolina can produce substantial wines. I enjoyed their tame, soft tasting Syrah and a Zinfandel that did not have to apologize for not tasting like what you have gotten use to from that west coast state. I look forward to opening with friends my painted bottles of Yadkin Valley RALV Syrah. Favorite Wine: Booneville Blanc

Better than average wines, less than average ambiance. It is just a tin building-not sure what they were going for there. Very nice story though-a tobacco farmer who started a successful winery named after his prize winning heffer.

June 2009 - We were kind of disappointed:-( Love the name and label but the tasting experience was not the best. The tasting room is a big metal warehouse building. We didn't feel very welcomed and the wines were just OK.

Favorite Wine: Kaledoscope Gold

I visited only once. The owner was very charming. I bought 2 wines while there. After getting them home loved the Kaledoscope, did not like the blush.

We've visited twice and it's very nice but I can't say that I have a favorite as far as their wine. I love the story behind the name.....worth checking out.

Visited this small operation while visiting the area. Good wines. Wish there was someone in attendance when we stepped into the place.
