Favorite Wine: Cabernet Sauvignon
Everything is just bigger (and a bit overwhelming) at the Biltmore. The wines were fine. Just not outstanding. The price points were not bad for the most part. Weekend crowds give it a rushed feel.

Favorite Wine: Old Vine Zinfandel
Everyone should visit Biltmore at least once in their lifetime. Plan to make a whole day of it (at least). Nice winery tour and free tasting of all the wines, about 20 of them! If you put a little cash on the bar early on, the server will know you intend to tip and they will be much more patient with you.

Biggest testing room I've ever seen. Easily 30+ people could be at the multiple tasting bar. I paid extra for the smaller premium tasting bar. Did not purchase any bottles at either since I prefer semi-sweet to sweet wines. Many tasting stations for the extras such as cheese ball mixes available to purchase. Tour is free. Glad I did not pay extra for the Biltmore website advertised wine & chocolate tasting tour.

The Biltmore mansion is amazing, the grounds are amazing, and the winery is amazing. We only spent one day there so we hope to go again so we can see what we missed the first time.

Let me preface this by saying I love to visit the Biltmore. The grounds are gorgeous--I love the gardens. And the house is truly amazing. And if you're visiting the Biltmore, you may as well see the winery. The winery itself is in a nice facility. But there is nothing personal about this tasting at all. Yes, I realize the Biltmore is the most visited winery in the country, and in their defense, I don't know how I would do it any different. But the two times I have been were both crowded, and I felt like I was being herded through. They make you watch a video presentation which will bore you to tears if you know anything about the production of wine. And the tasting itself is somewhat unsatisfying--as my husband said, "they give you spittles of undrinkable swill." Seriously, I have never been to a tasting that gave so little. My husband and I decided to pay for the "premium" tasting, and it was overall a much better experience. I'd maybe rate that as a three. The wine was also much better; of course, we later learned that it was produced in California. Still, we purchased several bottles. Overall, the wine tasting feels very commercial and touristy. But you won't be disappointed in the Biltmore itself or in the grounds, so overall, it's worth doing if you're in the area.

The Biltmore is beautiful as is the winery. Its very formal and stuffy, not the place to party. The wines are more serious than I prefer.

Go to the little store outside of the gates. You can do wine tastings there and not nealy as long as you would if you go in to do it. We looked around the shop and tasted all the wines in this little store...no waint for us. We got there line was huge going through the gate so we went to the little store outside of the gate that moring!

Favorite Wine: I bought a white, do not remeber which one as this was 6 years ago
Restaurant was great as well as the gardens. Winery was crowded and it was my first tasting, and I did not know how to do it. Very busy place.

OK... Fact: they may have the largest tasting room and the largest number of tasters per year of any winery in the USA. Fact: The wine is average! Bigger ain't necessarily better!

We had to wait in a long line just to get into the winery for tastings. Once in, we were pressured to finish our tastings and move on to the gift shop to buy wine. The wine itself was alright, but not great. They do have a great video presentation that describes how the the wine is made as well as an observation deck for visitors, so overall it was a great experience.
