Not only do you get a bad taste in your mouth from bad wine, you also get a bad taste from the female in charge of Rasta Ranch. If you want recommendations for future business, my advice to the female in charge is to take a course in business tact. If by chance you stop there, it won't take you long to find out for yourself.

Danger..nasty owner ahead. We had a great time during our winery tours except for Rasta Ranch. While waiting to get in my girlfriend picked a dead flower. Then down came swooping Broom-Hilda yelling "DON'T PICK MY FLOWERS" and then promptly ran back up the ramp. My crying girlfriend and I retreated to our bus. The rest of of our group went in and came out quickly and disappointed. They said of all the wineries we visited this had the lamest wines and they were also hustled quickly out of the place. I didnt realize at the time that Broom-Hilda (no kidding, she actually looks like Broom-Hilda) was the owner but some of our group said that the husband came over to them to apologize for her and they let him know that she cost him a lot of money as we quickly left there and spent no $$ at all. BTW, what are hippies know for; not bathing and sponging off society. Yep, that about summed up this place.

After visiting this winery on 10/14/12, I just had to leave my review. I was a "Rasta Ranch" fan. Speaking often of the good times had there, a must stop on my infrequent, but much enjoyed wine tours-NO LONGER! The ambience went from mellow & kitchy to commercialized and bitchy. The obscenities and rudeness from staff & female owner just floored me. As I was standing in the doorway, trying to have a nice conversation with the owner, I mentioned that we always stop when we are up, even though they are not on the wine map...her reply was "nope, no map for us, why the eff do I want those a-holes here?" REALLY? Then she SCREAMED "Oh my effing GOD!" and went running towards a few guys from our group. I am not sure what they were doing to set her off, but we were bustled onto the bus and as we left, the entire staff stood on the porch holding up their middle fingers. This will be my last visit to Rasta Ranch. Too bad, it used to be a great place ok wine...now, not so much.

Very Rude people. The owner was obviously wasted and very dramatic. The wines are drinkable but nothing special. Our memory of this place will be of the owner throwing some sort of temper tantrum out front while we waited to get inside. Disappointing.

A FANTASTIC place! A must visit on any wine trip to the Watkins Glen area! Anyone who loves the 1960's will love this place! The wine is well worth your stop, add in the building and contents the wine is sold from and you will come back time and time again!

This is a fun winery to visit. I recently took two of my friends there and we laughed and had fun with Diane. It's hippie atmosphere brings back fond memories of my days in high school, tie die, peace signs. The wine is fine!!! I have now purchased my third choice of wine. With the friendliness and good wine, it visit Rasta every time I visit Lake Seneca. If you didn't like it here, just get your nose out of your britches..

A very interesting little place, although the wine wasn't the greatest. We did like the ambiance, unfortunately the hostess and her staff were a bit simple and barbaric, to put it lightly. I would definitely go back again, if not for anything but the entertainment.

I love this place! The music is from my time and the people have always been very helpful. To the snob that didn't like the winery, then stay home and maybe you won't have to have you butt kicked for your distasteful comments!

disgusting wine. rude employees. owner was worst of all, she was trashed, using profanity, and quite a few racial slurs. the old man was somewhat polite. the young girl who identified herself as the owner's daughter and alleged manager needed a slap across the face and a bar of soap in her mouth. the owner needs to be trained on how to speak in public and a treadmill. needless to say, wife and i will not be returning, ever. we have also reported them to the better business bureau

This has to be one of the "must stop" places on ay tour! The staff are great... people to just sit around and talk to over their wine selections. Their wine is made to fit the atmosphere meaning it is meant to be enjoyed in good company just kicking back and enjoying the times!

Favorite Wine: Catawba and Cayuga
We loved Rasta Ranch Vineyards! My husband and I visited there in April 2006. In fact, when we got married in August 2007, we toasted with Rasta Ranch wine in lieu of champagne. Now we are ordering more to toast with at our daughter's christening. Diane is the most grcious hostess and the Rast Ranch is the best winery in Hector hands down!

This place rocks. DO NOT ask who Janice is. If you can't figure it out from the music, the tie dye, the posters and the burning incense, this is not the winery for you. If you are hip with the hippies, then you will have a GREAT time. Staff really enjoys their work. Wine is drinkable any time of day. We have proven it.
