Favorite Wine: Merlot, Jersey Berry, American Zinfandel

Visited Cream Ridge with my brother for his birthday on Valentine's Day. The winery offered 10 wines to taste for $5, plus they added 2 cheesecakes with dessert wines. It was awesome!! Wines were very, very palatable. All the whites I tried except Muscato Amabile. I liked the Pinot Grigio, Jersey Berry (Chardonnay and cranberry), Eastern White (adult white grape juice). The reds I liked were American Zinfandel (very fruity and light...great pizza/hamburger wine), Merlot(fruity, plummy, lush and smooth. The Almond Berry and Pineapple were paired with cheesecakes. OMG!! Awesome is all I can say!! The raspberry and Niagara combination of the Almond Berry is insane! I ended up buying a Jersey Berry (I'm a born Jersey Girl), American Zinfandel and a Java mini. The Java mini tastes like coffee. My husband is a coffee fanatic. Great for him. Loved the winery. The event was held in the barrel room with stations. Great setup. You were given tickets to place in a wine glass each time you tasted a wine. Will go back in the spring or summer to see the scenery then.

We visited a total of 3 wineries in this area, this being the last one of the day. As we approached the winery, it was small in comparison to two other places we've seen prior (Unionville Vineyards, and Hopewell Vineyards). We got out of the car and saw a young couple carrying a case of wine to their car and thought nothing of it. Then, just befor entering the door, an older gentleman came out with his own case of wine. I had assumed the wine had to be "that good". Upon stepping into the threshold of the wine-tasting room, the man behind the bar, Hector, immediately greeted us and asked if we were there for wine-tasting. I was about to ask the price, but before I can speak, he said its FREE. Amazing! Whatever is on their winelist is what you can sample! Their winelist includes a lot of fruit wines, which is exactly what I like. There are a few drys, which I skeptical about, but was pleasantly surprised after sampling. During the wine-tasting, Hector, offered his opinions about each wine and engaged us (my fiance and I) with light conversation. Soon after, Eileen (Hector's wife) joined in the conversation and was just as hospitable! I can only give positive remarks for this winery, mainly for their customer service and wines. The atmosphere is cozy, casual, not ritzy. We'll be sure to visit again!
