Favorite Wine: 2010 Casanova
What a beautiful building, carefully maintained with original fixtures. The tasting bar is very small and cramped on a Saturday afternoon, but the staff are obviously well versed in dealing with large groups. I only tasted the dry reds and came away with a blend of Norton, possibly Syrah? This is a place that caters to large groups, weddings, showers, etc. Beautiful building. The wine wasn't as impressive as the building, but that may be because I felt rushed so they could get the next big group into the tasting bar.

Favorite Wine: Sorelle Dolci
This place is amazing! The building and grounds outside are just beautiful. It would be a nice location for a wedding! I'm a newby at wine but I liked the wine I tasted, with the sweet white wine, Sorelle Dolci, as my favorite. The staff was friendly and welcoming and enjoyed chatting with us about the history of the winery and the buildings. (I think it was the owners son-in-law so it's a family run business which is nice.) I visited 5 local wineries the same day and this was probably my favorite!

Favorite Wine: Norton
A very unique location for a winery and they even have a paranormal tour of the buildings once a month as the owner's son-in-law told us Belvoir is ranked #2 in Missouri for such activity. The buildings ( a former orphanage, home for the poor, retirement home and hospital) represent an unimaginable amount of overhead and upkeep. As such the grounds are not in immaculate condition. The tasting room is just a tiny fraction of the entire site. All in all the ambiance was a little confusing or maybe even disappointing. Don't want to be too harsh but just want to lower the bar a little because I accidentally came in with unrealistic expectations for the buildings, grounds and ambiance. The wines were pretty nice. Very soft. Definitely not going for big fruit or bog oak. Again what I think others have told me is a distinct Kansas City style to the Norton that carried over to their other offerings. The son-in-law told said that they are on the verge of a major business deal in another venture that could result in major capital becoming available to the longstanding plans for Belvoir. Keep an eye on what happens here. Exciting days could be ahead.

Favorite Wine: Plumeria and Sorelle Dolci
Missouri's only haunted winery(at least as far as I know). The winery and tasting room are set up in a couple of buildings in the century old Odd Fellows Home estate. The rumors of the building being haunted pre-date the winery by decades, but the building are still under renovation, which takes away from the ambiance just a little. Only six wines are offered for tasting, but they represent a good range. The dry wines are subtle and not at all "oaky". The Sorelle Dolci is an excellent sweet white.

This is a great winery, love the people and the place is so beautiful. Can't wait to do movie night on Friday's that they are having now.
