Favorite Wine: Dolce Bianco
Visited this new winery in July 2011. It was a bit of a walk from parking lot to tasting room on a gravel pathway. But they did have nice grounds otherwise, they were setting up for an event. Not many semi-sweet to sweet wines to taste, but really like the Dolce Bianco. Very nice staff.

Favorite Wine: Aria
Yet another nice winery in the Augusta area. I tried the Norton first. In any other area, I would probably rave about this Norton. It was very good. Only problem is that the Hermann-Augusta-Defiance area has a lot of good Nortons. The wines we liked best here were the semi-dries. First, the oaked Aria which is a blend of the Chambourcin and St. Vincent grapes. Next was the unoaked Sonata, an off-dry white blend of Vidal Blanc, Rayon D’Or and Chardonnel. Nice crisp, floral blend. Coming in third was an unoaked version of the Chambourcin / St. Vincent blend called Chiaretto. We thought these blends were rather unique and what set this winery apart. Our hostess was very nice and helpful.

Maybe they opened the Norton they served at the tasting bar sometime in 2009. Maybe the people surrounding us who asked for "sweet white wine only" were more common than those of us looking for "dry reds only." Nevertheless, I wanted to try a fresh bottle, and this was the only restaurant/winery that served a meal. The pizzas are nice, and the Norton was okay. The Aria -a dry red blend of Chambourcin and St. Vincent- was really tart, but again, the bottle may have been opened for way too long. I was hoping for Italian blends, but they don't offer any in dry reds.

Norton Wine Review: Disappointing Norton wine in an area surrounded by superior examples. Day was not wasted since we had their Aria wine (have no idea what that was composed from) with a great pizza for lunch at Louis P. Balducci Vineyards.
