Corner location and smaller tasting room, but staff was very happy and knowledgeable, even directing us to other winery locations. We like semi-sweet to sweet wines and they provided. Tasted 6 wines and bought all but 1.

Favorite Wine: Norton
It’s street corner, metal building entrance to the tasting room didn’t create the best first impression or ambiance for me. But up the hill they have nicer grounds and there is actually some nice outdoor seating areas back at the tasting room too. Go there with a few friends on a nice fall day or evening and the ambiance would be just fine. We liked several of the wines here. The price points on many of them were very nice as well. We liked their Norton. My wife thought it was very good. She felt it had a buttery undertone that she hadn’t picked up in any other Nortons. I couldn’t make this flavor out myself but I still felt this was a nice Norton at a 3+ to 4 stars. They were sold out of their Norton Reserve so it might have been better yet. I liked their Reserve Red which is a blend of Norton, Chambourcin and St. Vincent. As I tasted their Chambourcin, I thought it was rather flat compared to their Nortons. The hostess pointed out that this Chambourcin is a great compliment to foods such as pizza and its lighter character wouldn’t overpower the food. Upon a few more sips and taking her words in, I concede her point. Their Chambourcin as a table wine is nice too. Finally, I liked their unoaked Chardonnel at a ridiculously low price of $9.13 a bottle. Then there is their Vintage Port which is a very special Port and again at a very reasonable price. This Port is a solid 4 stars.

Favorite Wine: Vignoles
The server there was almost bitter that other wineries in the area charge for tastings and she did not. Almost proud that she gave away free booze. After tasting the blackberry wine, I wouldn't charge for it either. Awkward place. Vignoles was okay.

The very best wines in Augusta and probably in Missouri. Prices are very reasonable. Love the dry reds. I can't say enough good about this winery. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.

Favorite Wine: 2006 Chambourcin
Nice Norton, Chambourcin, and Reserve Red blend of Chambourcin, Norton and St. Vincent. The 05 Norton was spectacular, and the 07, which they're serving now, is nice, but not as great as the 05. Very knowledgeable staff and cozy tasting room. With a small fee, you can have a special Norton tasting which will allow you to take a Reidel Norton glass home. This was the best Norton of the Augusta wineries.

Norton Wine Review: Augusta's Norton "Cynthiana" is a good standard by which to judge other Missouri Norton wines. It is a very good Norton wine which tends to be a bit "cherried" intense in flavors, yet dry in taste. Like all Augusta's wines, this Norton is a bit more reasonable in cost compared to other vineyards.

Some of the best wine in Augusta. Also the best prices for great wine. They just opened a nice wine patio and serve beer.
