Even though I agree that the grounds are in sad shape, I did not mind the interior of the winery - I thought it was cozy and comfortable. We sat out on the deck and did our tasting and found the wines interesting - not great but certainly drinkable. The other groups of people out on the deck were ordering food, and it looked great and everyone seemed happy with their selections. I found the owners to be friendly, and we didn't wait long for our wine. We had an overall great experience here and we would go back. And this wasn't the first winery we've been to that was in a "modular home", however the grounds were pretty uninviting - maybe a little work here is needed. it's still worth a stop if your in the area and like to try new wines/wineries.

Favorite Wine: Raspberry Dessert Wine
My husband and I visited the winery for the first time for the dinner concert. We've experienced other wineries so we had a fairly good idea of what to expect. We were gravely disappointed. Upon arrival, we immediately noticed the poor conditions of the landscaping & building (modular home). The owner barely greeted us and left us waiting for our first taste of wine. He never explained the wines to us or even offered us water to sip between the wines. Once the concert was about to begin, we still hadn't been seated at our table. Once seated, the owner then asked me to get up from my chair so he could change the lightbulb above us! Our table was wobbly, the window coverings in the place were crashing off the windows and we were served water in plastic cups! The musician was ok but we would have liked to have been informed that he did not play any originals. The staff was very poorly organized. The meal was unsatisfying and we had to wait an hour and a half to be served. We will never go back to that winery again. Definitely not worth the $20 or $30 per person for the dinner concert (which did not include the cost of appetizers or beverages).

Kip and Dennise are the wonderful owners of this winery. Love their Reds. The Gamay Noir is exquisite. They offer Saturday night intimate gatherings with entertainment and food for an extremely reasonable price and in the summer months they have a deck to chill out on and enjoy other entertainment as well. Although the winery is very small, the hospitality makes up for it. It is definitely worth the trip up to Jackson.

Interesting... I was searching the internet for a place to review Lone Oak about the very situation "weber" references. Only my view of the situation was that the owner waited too long to intervene. Lone Oak offers the area a venue that is not otherwise available. This was the second dinner/concert I attended on a Saturday evening. A great deal for around $20/person. Dinner was a little on the late side but was worth the wait. Salad, bread and a generous, tasty entree hit the spot. Yes, you are seated closely at tables for four but it leans toward a more intimate atmosphere, not overcrowding. The party of ten was oblivious to the patrons around them trying to enjoy listening to an incredibly talented musician. So yes, the "weber" party was "too loud" for this event. Really. And if you are in Jackson, MI give Lone Oak a try. I enjoy all of their dry reds and the raspberry dessert wine is a must have for entertaining. If you prefer a loud, rowdy atmosphere with cheap beers and deep-fried dinners there are plenty of establishments in the area that will accommodate you.

If I could give less than a one star rating, I would. You arrive at Lone Oak and are greeted with with muddy, cluttered parking lot. Once inside the very small building, you will be packed into seats very close together. The wait staff are friendly, however, the meal ( which was over priced) arrived 30 minutes past the scheduled time. We had a party of 10 people ( with reservations). After dinner, we ordered a bottle of wine and were refused. Each "guest" at our table had no more than 2 glasses of wine with dinner and many did not drink wine at all. We were asked to leave after dinner because we were being "too loud". Really? If you are in Jackson,MI, dont waste your time going to Lone Oak..
