Favorite Wine: Black Peach

Sweet wines were very interesting. Some of the fruit wines were crazy and in a good way if you're wanting sweet wines. The Blackberry Peach Wine would be great over ice cream. Unfortunately for us, we're not that into sweet wines. But if you sweet wines is what you do, then the Toad is for you. The dry reds were very different. To be honest I want to say the dry reds are just plain bad. But perhaps I need to get used to them. They were barely recognizable to me. Something with the terroir, yeast, winemaker preference or something. I don't know. Right from the nose to the finish, there is something very different going on with their reds at least in my range of experiences.

Not sure where to start - overall great experience. The wines have a great range from outstanding dry (Chardonnay rules!) to above average fruit wines (the blackberry is fantastic). A little something for everyone. And our server was fun, friendly and knew the wines well. A must do when in the area.

Purple Toad Winery won 19 awards in the inaugural Kentucky Commonwealth Commercial Wine Competition including KY's Best sweet wine for their Paducah Peach and the most awards in the competition.

A new wine Black & Blue. It is a combination of the Paducah Blue and Lauren's Blackberry.. Great blend.. The winery won 51 awards last year across the Country.

The comment made on October 14, 2010 is a misinformed one. Purple Toad Winery has always given a portion of the proceeds to whatever charity they are supporting. To say otherwise, is incorrect.

I was at a non-profit fundraiser and purple toad was there selling their wine and none of the proceeds went to their organization. I believe Purple Toad should have donated the wine or at least part of what they made that night!!!!
