Favorite Wine: Catlin's and Mourvedre
Doing a wine tour of the Elgin and Willcox area of Arizona Callaghan's was on the list. A working winery for sure. The tasting time is a bit odd, shutting down at 4:00PM but we made it there. The girl behing the barrels was more interested in the two boys tasting next to us, but that was ok as we got to let the wine settle in. The wines were a bit $$$ but generally good. Goldies was a washout but I did like Catlins and Mourvedre. It was good to see an actual working winery & tasting area.

I live in Tucson and decided to try the wineries in southern Arizona. I like sweeter wines and did not find anything I liked but my friend liked a couple of the wines and the people we nice. I really liked the tasting glass and bought one here.

We went to an area wine tasting and this place had great wines. The tasting area was a little rough but the folks are nice.

I have going to Arizona Wine Country for 10 years and love Arizona Wines. Callaghan is one of the favorites, along with Elgin and Sonoita. Always been treated wonderfully and this is a working winery, so it is worked in, as are all of the Arizona wineries.

Favorite Wine: Mourvedre
We've always liked the Callaghan offerings. Lately, though, everything seems to be blends and the selection is smaller. I miss the Mourvedre; it was serious stuff. Not that the blends are bad (quite the opposite, in fact). Sure the tasting area is primitive, but that's because they put their money and effort into the wine, not the fripperies.

We visited them right after the disappointing time at Rancho Rossa, we told them of the bad experience and they just blew it off as we were the bad people. The wines are very good.

Nice wines. We have tried to come here for years and finally made it. Keep it up.

While visiting family in Phoenix we decided to go the the Arizona "Wine Country". I live in California in the real Wine Country and had to see for myself what Arizona Wine was about. We have heard heaps about this wine maker and had to stop here. The wines are really good, the tasting area is a bit cramped but well worth waiting. They and Elgin seem to be the busiest and most popular. Our second favorite wine from Arizona was here (first at Elgin). Only drawback to this place is the attitude they have towards the other wineries in the area. A must stop.

Nice wines. The owners were there and it was nice to talk with the winemaker a little. The only thing I can suggest to them is after stopping at Rancho Rossa, and hearing nothing but negative things about the other wineries, just stand on your own merit, there is no need to bring up anyone else. I liked the wines and the Callaghans, but really think they should distance themselves from Rancho Rossa.

During our weekend visit we stopped here third. Very good wines, the owners were a nice refreshing change from the putz at Rancho Rossa. The winery is a working one and open, we thought all of the wines we sampled were great.

We are old hacks at this wine tasting game, that being said, we decided to branch out from our native California to try the Southwest. We have heard good things about the Callaghan wines and the wines did not dissappoint, the winery is a working building, so it was very crowded and lacked ambiance, but the wines made up for that.

Favorite Wine: Catlin's
Good wines, a small crowded building with no ambiance. Wines were very good, a bit pricey. Guy was nice, lady was fake.
